MQNA Emotion Transformer

Every feeling carries information.

Frustration often points to something you care about. Worry shows what you are trying to protect. Disappointment reveals what you hoped for. When we rush past a feeling, or push it away, we miss what it is trying to tell us.

This short exercise helps you slow down and listen. It is for anyone who wants to respond to pressure with intention rather than reaction, and it was designed with leaders in mind.

How it works

  1. Moment. Name what you are feeling, in your own words.
  2. Question. Ask what the feeling might be telling you.
  3. Nugget. Choose a strength that would help, then compare it with a suggestion.
  4. Affirmation. Set one small, specific intention you can act on.

These four steps - Moment, Question, Nugget, Affirmation - make up MQNA, the reflective practice at the heart of our coaching.

It takes about three minutes. Nothing you write is saved or sent anywhere, and you can copy your reflection at the end.

Use your own words. A single word or a short sentence both work.
