AND TRANSFORM
"The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them."
Ethical Values
We are living in a fast-paced, rapidly changing world. Mixed in with these challenges are: the current health crisis, societal concerns over the integrity of business leaders and financial institutions, human-induced climate change, the increasing demands of an increasingly knowledgeable customer base and the fragility of the global financial system.
Organisations operating in this challenging environment require a shift in ways of thinking. In response, organisations that are adapting progressively to the demands of the times are seeking to do things differently, for example they are looking to recruit or develop a new type of leader, one who can motivate and inspire others to be agents of change within their organisations, where those agents of change see themselves as leaders.
Taking this approach results in the creation of useful resources for the organisation. Organisations such as Starbucks Coffee, Southwest Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Walt Disney have seen the benefit of values-led leadership and building organisations on the solid foundation of values. After all, values make up who we are; they form what we stand for as individuals, groups and organisations - what better foundation to establish a business on? If we don't understand our values how can we be expected to lead, motivate and inspire?
As part of our programme we offer any organisation, the opportunity to take a good look at itself, in order to help it to understand the values that are important to it - across all levels of the organisation. More importantly, we go on to reflect and articulate what these values would look like in practice.
If your organisation isn't sure of its values; we'll help you define them.
If your organisation knows its values but doesn't know if it is enacting them; we'll help you discover this.
If staff in your organisation have varied perspectives about your values we'll help you define a shared perspective.
Values Development
The values workshop forms part of the programme we offer and will help participants:
-
Identify and articulate what you consider to be the most important aspects of your work in terms of worth and value
-
Create a common vocabulary that best describes the important aspects of what is worthwhile and meaningful in your context
-
Develop a common, united vision for the way forward to support the organisation/project to head towards a specific goal and also to agree the path to achieve this
-
Where organisations have a set of clearly defined values, for example outlined in their mission statement, this approach will enable you to understand and articulate how those values could look in action
If you are interested in taking a values-based approach in the way your organisation and people do things, then please feel free to contact us.
These are just some of the types of things that groups/teams find are important in the context of their work.
